Creating a Productive Workplace: Part Three

FROM LAYOUT TO LIGHTING, WHAT DO YOU NEED TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION?

CONSIDER THE COLORS

If your office walls are a dull beige or plain gray, it might be time for an upgrade. Adding a color to the walls can also help improve productivity, as it can enhance moods and even increase enthusiasm. While it might not seem feasible to drench every wall in a bright yellow, choosing colorful additions such as fabrics and wall coverings is a great way to add a splash of color while also adding depth, dimension, and a little bit of personality to the overall space.

At Commercial Office Environments, we’re always thinking about what is best for our clients and the environments they operate in, and considering the colors is always a priority. One way we’ve incorporated color into the workplace is suggesting the colors based on a company or organization’s branding. For example, Ulta Beauty requested us to specify colors for their distribution center in Greenwood, Indiana. We created a space for executive staff that incorporated their brand’s colors, and was professional but fun and tasteful along with the nature of the company’s business. The company was so satisfied, they repeated the design in their “copy” in Texas.

Additionally, for a healthcare facility, we utilized cool colors in the nurses’ area as these tend to be more calming at help put people at ease. We used a more vibrant color in the café and breakout areas where there tended to be more activity. No matter what industry you work in or what type of customers you serve, even just a new splash of color can give your workplace a new look while helping boost efficiency of your employees in a space they’ll love.
