Together, our team shares over 425 years of experience in creating spaces where people want to gather. We have 21 team members who listen to our customers’ needs and build workspaces that foster well-being, collaboration, and creativity. To date, we have championed over 72,000 projects. And, this month, Commercial Office Environments turns 35 years old and we’re celebrating all month long. If you haven’t seen our fun throwbacks and celebrations on Instagram so far this month, check out the highlights below and be sure to follow us on Instagram (@CommercialOfficeEnvironments) to join the fun!
In 1987 our President and CEO, Sara Cook, started Commercial Office Environments from her dining room table along with our account executive, Kim Finch! Kim says “I remember doing everything on that typewriter! We were hand-drafting and the most high-tech thing we had was my electric eraser! I finally told Sara we needed call-waiting as we delivered furniture in Sara’s brother’s milk truck!” COE’s first client was Merchants National Corporation, now PNC bank. They are still a customer today! We have come a long way since those days, several locations later and some new trucks.
Kim (center) was our first employee alongside our CEO, Sara Cook! She has been here from the beginning and continues to lead our team as an account executive! Thank you Kim for 35 years of dedication and commitment to our team!
In 1987, Howard Shultz purchased a coffee roaster called Starbucks. He opened the first Starbucks Coffee shop in Seattle. Sara Cook opened COE in Indianapolis on Guion Road!
#TBT to 1987 with our account executive, Josh Raver, who joined our team 16 years ago! In 1987 Josh was graduating from Indiana University and accepted his first job, selling insurance! He has been a sales leader from the start and continues to thrive overseeing global accounts at COE.
MODERN PARTITIONS! In 1976 Modern Partitions became HAWORTH as it’s known today. What an honor to have been a part of the Haworth Family for over 30 years!
#TBT to 1987 plus 5 years or so…our interior designer, Angela, was rocking the bucket hat before bucket hats were cool. We are thankful to have had her for the past 6 years at COE! Thank you, Angela!
